Spring Special!!! Feel like a "Big Spender" but save a lot of $$$.
Welcome! Harriet's House was built around 1878 by John and Mary Esselbach, becoming one of the first Put-in-Bay Ohio homes still standing today. In 2002, Linda and Denny Rectenwald took over ownership of the property, renamed this new venture Harriet's House, and a new guest house business began on Put-In-Bay. Customers have been returning year after year as new friendships have been made. If you have not visited yet, we would like to welcome you to our Put-in-Bay rental home or one of our spacious luxury suites.

In the fall of 2004, the Rectenwalds began the expansion of this little South Bass Island paradise. A new 2400 square foot building was added to the property. The Island Suites welcomed their first guests in May of 2005. A combination of Island and local talent, along with a lot of personal sweat equity from family and friends made this new building a reality. In recognition of the superior quality of this Put-in-Bay vacation home, Harriet's House received the coveted Best of the Bay Award's "Best Guest House" award in 2008.
